I'm taking part in the Dracotops_Harry fest and I'm looking for someone willing to be a second set of eyes; make sure what I write is coherent and cohesive. :)
The deadline for this is March 19th.
Rating: R or NC-17
Summary: Harry grows up not knowing about the magical world outside his own, or his own role in the events unfolding in it. He is kidnapped and held prisoner by Draco Malfoy, a man desperately spinning a tangled web of plots and schemes to save his family. If he can use the legend of The Boy Who Lived, or if he must turn Harry in to Voldamort in order to be free, it makes little difference to Draco.
Word Count: I have no official word count. This one is going to be longer though; probably 20k+
Warnings: Major character death; Mentions of torture (I don't think I'm going to get explicit with that, just sort of elude to the fact that it happened.); Depictions of violence.
I am looking for a beta to work with. What I would love to work on together the most is my current long-length fic (already 20k and climbing) BUT I also have three other completed fics that need cleaning up, so I am posting all three here. If any of them looks like something you would be willing to beta, I would be very, very grateful.
Pairing: Sirius/Remus (for the first three of them)
Format: Google docs would be best, but I'm open to other suggestions
Content: Angst. Oscillates between happy memories and sad reminiscing
Content: AU where James dies but Lily lives. Angst with happy ending. Some smut at the end.
Length: 20k++ and going. My plot plan so far takes me up to a minimum of 80k total, but I would be grateful for any amount of beta-ing, so don't feel obligated to stick it out if you want to take a look at just one chapter or two.
Content: A mixture of genres due to its length and content, but includes chapters with: Gen content (pranks, Hogwarts teachers, etc.), romantic content with fights and fluff, quite a lot of angst as per the usual S/R recipe.
Rating: Will include chapters of NC-17 content although word-count-wise it will not be much compared to the rest. There will be graphic descriptions of wounds/damages, particularly after bad transformations for Remus and during the first war. Nothing grotesque, but I know some people feel uncomfortable reading about physical pain.
Warnings: Child abuse (not graphic, but heavily mentioned the few times the subject comes up), werewolf prejudice (cruel!Ministry), Bastard!Sirius for a while, underage teenage sexual acts depending on where you live (16). Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head at the moment.
Content: PWP, a bit OOC due to Sirius being an unbelievable bastard and James being clueless to the point where he comes off as a bastard too. I would classify as non-con.
I need some SPaG, Britpicking if possible, and tense checking. I would also truly appreciate it if you could comment on general readability/flow, etc. This will be my first time being beta'd and I feel like my fics really need it.
Contact: Please email me on victoriagunes@gmail or comment here. Thank you!
Content: PWP, Kinkfest fic: Praise kink, voice kink, enthusiastic consent. Bottom Draco. Mild D/s with slightly subby Harry.
Format: Google docs
Primarily I need SPaG, commas and tense checking. However, if you can comment on tone, readability, nuance and word choice, flow, etc then I'll love you forever.
I'm finishing it this weekend and it should be ready to beta by Monday at the latest.

Rating: Teen and up
Pairing: Seraphina Picquery/Percival Graves
Need Help With: spag
Hi! I have a oneshot (around 1000 words), based on the new film "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" (includes spoilers!)
English is my second language, so I'd love to have someone checking my grammar. All other feedback is naturally welcome as well.
Length: TBC, 2-5k
Due: 14 Feb (but ready for beta soon)
Format: Google Docs prefered, but can do Word.
Warnings: Characters are legal but under 18. SPaG check is the must have because I type too fast and apparently I have an in built aversion to commas. I also like a beta who can comment and read for flow and rhythm as well as better grammar and general style. I'm a fairly allusionary and allegorical writer so word choice is also important to me and I'm always open to ideas and suggestions for specificty or tone. I'm happy to take comments on characterisation, plot, and clarity but only if you have time. Edited to add: please feel free to comment here or email me at kitty at kittyaugust dot com.
I normally stick to reading, but one particular fest caught my heart and I thought I'd try my hand at writing this time. I'd really appreciate a beta that can help with flow, catching plot holes, html (I know the most limited html possible rn), and grammar. I'm aiming to have my writing all done by the first week in January. Submission is due mid-February. The pairing is Ron / Draco, and it will probably escalate to an E or MA rating. I have 2K words down rn, and I'm thinking it'll go to around 10K?
Thank you to anyone who takes this on! I'm really excited to have an experienced writer's guidance :D
I need a beta for the rarepair_shorts winter exchange fest. Deadline 21st Dec.
Beta type: spag, flow
- Tags:au, contains: cross gen, era: post-dh/post-war, fest, help: flow, help: spag, hermione granger, het, length: one shot, pg-13, rating: pg-13
I'm looking for a last minute beta for a fluff/rated PG harry/draco story. It's around 3k. Just a quick second set of eyes. Nothing major. Due before Monday.
google docs only. please email me. digthewriter @ gmail . com
I need a SPaG, flow and characterisation check for a Snape-centric Marauder's era fic.
It looks to be about 3k long once I get this final major scene done. It's a little plotless and rambling at the moment but no major warnings apply. Some het longing and torment and hints of background R/S.
Google docs is my prefered format.
Please leave a comment or email me at kitty at kittyaugust dot com if you're interested.
